Sarah Zitnay was born and raised in Connecticut. She studied ballet with Lisa Denaro, Kenneth Hopkins and Steven Hyde, and participated in the Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and Kaatsbaan summer intensives. Sarah graduated cum laude from the SUNY Purchase College Conservatory of Dance in May 2006, with a B.F.A. in Dance. There she studied with Megan Williams, Rosanna Seravalli and others and performed in Lauri Stallings' The Great Quiet. In NYC, she has been grateful to perform with the Avodah Dance Ensemble, with whom she traveled to two different women's prisons to perform and workshop with the inmates.
