Dancers

Jessica Chen (Development Director) was born and raised in Hacienda Heights, California. She has danced in various styles, from Chinese folk dance to contemporary dance. She is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Global Studies (emphasis in Socio-economics and Politics). While Jessica was at UCSB she performed in both the dance department and in the Santa Barbara dance community. Since moving to NYC, she has been a student at the Alvin Ailey School and on staff at Broadway Dance Center. She has also performed with Earl Mosley’s Diversity of Dance, and has performed works by Juan Rodriguez of Complexions Contemporary Ballet. She has worked with Hong Kong pop artist Sheren Tang. Jessica is currently a company member of The Vixens with choreographer Torey Nelson.

Jessica was the Development Director of a non-profit organization called International Convention on Human Rights (ICHR), under the direction of Kirk Boyd. She traveled to Geneva, Switzerland and Strasburg, France to represent ICHR at the United Nations and European Court on Human Rights. She also organized the first Human Rights Festival in Santa Barbara to celebrate the non-profits in SB, and educated the community on ways to get involved.
